In the first semester, the students are introduced to the basic technology used in the Professional MBA program (Lotus Notes), and learn about graphical methods for analyzing data and for working in groups. They also learn how to analyze data using regression analysis, how to analyze managerial data using control charts, and outsourcing.

During the second semester, the students learn about radical process improvement via reengineering techniques, and learn how to build forecasts using a variety of useful methods, based on what information sources are available and the patterns in the data. In addition, they examine specific reengineering New Product Development processes.

The major learning objectives

1. The student will be able to effectively use Lotus Notes as a tool in the PROMBA program.
2. The student will be able to study an existing organizational process and determine ways to make major improvements to that process.
3. The student will be able to design appropriate data collection to understand process performance, and to analyze the resulting data, whether by regression analysis, control chart analysis, graphical analysis or otherwise.
4. The student will be able to offer useful insight on outsourcing decisions and the management of outsourced products and processes.
5. The student will be able to contribute meaningfully to redesign / improvement of their organization’s new product development process(es).
