The UT Professional MBA program far exceeded my expectations.  It was exhilarating to learn from both students and professors, then immediately apply this knowledge to improving Bridgestone/Firestone processes.  The UT professors engaged students with real life business examples that made the classroom come alive, and the caring staff went out of their way to make our experience first-class.

Two aspects of the program’s integrated curriculum had a great impact on me. For me, the integration impacted me in two aspects.  First, because the program was based on my employer, with full backing from that employer, we were able to realize a direct return on our investment in the UT Professional MBA.
Secondly, the integration within the program brought together a complex series of issues, from finance to operations management, to marketing and design, and put everything into one package.  The Marketplace simulation gave me a completely new perspective of business, a completely different way of looking at things.  For example, as I prepare financial justifications for every new piece of equipment, I consider what actually costs us money, including the floor space, time, operations management, and the cost of lost opportunities.

For me, attending the ProMBA program at UT has been the highlight of my academic career.  The level of professionalism displayed by the faculty and administration was exemplary.  The content of the program was both timely and practical.  The quality of my classmates was excellent;  proven professionals in their own business endeavors.  The collaborative synergy of the UT faculty, administration, and my classmates made for an educational experience that exceeded my expectations.  If you are considering attending the ProMBA at UT, experience yourself.....and be happy you did.

The Professional M.B.A. Program at the University of Tennessee is a complete learning experience that combines academic learning with real-world business activities.  This program is much more than an exploration of theories and figures.  It provides a framework for self exploration and knowledge application.  The interaction between the faculty and my classmates was an invaluable experience that I will draw upon for the rest of my life.  The combination of motivated students, a brilliant faculty, and a dedicated staff provided a truly transforming learning experience.

Like a carpenter with his toolbox, the Professional MBA program equips you with the tools and the skills for effective strategic planning, process management, financial management, and many other management disciplines. The Professional MBA offers a similar curriculum, similar materials, even most of the same instructors as the traditional MBA program.
It would have been impossible to work full-time without this type of scheduling. It was an intense process, with many 16-hour days. It’s not a ‘quick-grits’ MBA program.
Healthcare, for example, provides a valuable community service, but it is also a business with issues such as stewardship, cost containment, productivity, and efficiency. I was tired of participating in administrative meetings where people talked over my head. They were referring to a template, and I didn’t know it.
The biggest impact of my student project was a new documentation system for the ER. The result was immediate improvement in the process flow in our emergency room. We are leveraging this classification system to make sure that we have the right person, at the right place, at the right time, with the right skill level. We are studying the distribution of our patient population across each unit to allocate our people with the greatest possible efficiency, productivity, and patient satisfaction

I joined the University of Tennessee Professional MBA program to reinforce many of the skills that were outside the scope of my undergraduate education.  The program’s applied method of teaching is excellent for working professionals.  The theoretical material taught in the classroom is supported by real-life examples and case studies that illustrate how particular business principles apply to the real world.
Combining theory and practical application allows students to immediately apply what’s learned to their respective firms.  Certain reading materials were so relevant to the efforts at my company that I required my team to purchase and study them.
The independent project that runs throughout the program applies what’s learned and identifies specific opportunities to improve profitability within each student’s firm.  My firm will benefit now and in the future through improved processes based on the initiatives that were developed and implemented through my project.
I have personally benefited from UT’s Professional MBA program through a broader knowledge base, and I am able to think more globally about business than I was able to before.  This knowledge will translate into more confidence as I continue advancing in my career.

The Professional MBA is an awesome program! The program is designed so that both the student and his/her organization reap immediate benefits.  My course-long project recommended construction of an outpatient imaging center at the UT Medical Center; the proposal was presented to and approved by the board, and the center is now operational. Because of my degree, I was able to advance to a new company and position. The move more than paid for the program in my first year. Attending the Professional MBA program was time, money, and effort more than well-spent!!
