As a Six Sigma Black Belt, the faculty was able to provide me with a broad range of cutting-edge tools and methodology to immediately impact the performance of the business.  In addition, the remarkable individuals in the program created long-lasting friendships and networking opportunities.

- Nat Ford, Six Sigma Black Belt
Alstom Corporation

The Professional MBA program challenged my limits to reach a higher level of thinking. It pushed me to become a more strategic thinker and more effective communicator so that I now can "sit at the table" on higher-level issues.

- John Ikirt; Strategic Market Director
Ortho-McNeil Janssen Pharmaceutical Services (Division of Johnson & Johnson)

“The international trip is a must for the ProMBA student.  Exposure to a country with a slant toward the deeper aspects such as politics, business, and cultural norms provides a very different perspective of the world outside the US.  I thoroughly enjoyed discussing these deeper subjects with the locals; the people that I talked with were extremely friendly and glad to discuss not only their country but also the surrounding countries.  The deeper subjects also provide a sense of exploration because unlike the typical focus areas, the deeper subjects are not captured in normal travel literature.   I recommend the foreign trips as a must for ProMBA students.

-William Joseph Scheib; Six Sigma Black Belt
BWXT Y-12

The Professional MBA program was exceptional, providing a learning experience from which I continue to draw.  My classmates were an extraordinary group of individuals driven to succeed.  They were a source of inspiration, motivation and learning throughout the program.
Without a doubt, the pinnacle of my Professional MBA experience was our international trip to Prague.  The week-long outing was a once in a lifetime opportunity.  With the exception of those events involving my family and my faith, no week that I can recall has had a longer lasting impact on my life.

- Max Bertram, CSP, CHMM; Regional HSE Manager
Aleris International, Inc

My point in writing is to be one of many who have attested to the value of your program. I do have a bias that it is the marketplace that ultimately judges; and in the case of Toby's work within your program, our little piece of the marketplace called the News Sentinel judged it very favorably. We not only bought in to his (school project) plan, but we've put him in charge of implementing it. Thanks for all you've done for my friends.

Jim Boyd, Circulation Director
Knoxville News Sentinel

I tend to look back at my Professional MBA experience more fondly as time goes on. The program was tough, but I’d certainly recommend it. You must be motivated, thought and you must manage your time well.
One of the most valuable tools I acquired through the MBA program was the cost/benefit justification analysis. I learned to look at things more objectively. The Professional MBA program gave me the confidence to start EnerNex.

Jeff Lamoree; President and CEO
EnerNex

The Professional MBA was precisely what I needed, with Saturday classes and on occasional Tuesday online. It allowed me the ability to work full time and stay active with my family while pursuing my education.”

Kendra Harrold; Procurement Manager
Eastman Chemical Co.

This [international] trip provides perspectives that are necessary to broaden our horizons. All too often, our frame of reference can be too narrow, and we think our ways are the only viable solutions. The U.S. does not maintain a monopoly on business success. We need to learn how to partner with foreign counterparts in order to gain better access to their markets.”

Barry Totten; Master Six Sigma Black Belt
BWXT Y-12

The ProMBA program has allowed me to understand a manager's job from a much more holistic point of view where the key is to maintain balance among a number of competing and important priorities in order to make tomorrow's organizations more efficient and productive. I have been specially encouraged by the international flavor that the professors have given the class by discussing both the changes and opportunities that a global economy will give us as future business leaders.

“Two aspects of the program’s integrated curriculum had a great impact on me. For me, the integration impacted me in two aspects. First, because the program was based on my employer, with full backing from that employer, we were able to realize a direct return on our investment in The Professional MBA.

“Secondly, the integration within the program brought together a complex series of issues, from finance to operations management , to marketing and design, and put everything into one package. The Marketplace simulation gave me a completely new perspective of business, a completely different way of looking at things. For example, as I prepare financial justifications for every a new piece of equipment, I consider what actually costs us money, including the floor space, time, operations management and the cost of lost opportunities.”
