Most of the day was spent on a trip to Terezin which was a fortress during World War II for Jews, Gypsies and Slavs enroute to Auschwitz. Of these, approximately 35,000 died at Terezin from starvation, disease or suicide.
The evening was spent attending Giacomo Puccini's Tosca at the State Opera House with a pre-opera dinner at the Hotel Esplanade. The Prague State Opera house is one of the most beautiful buildings in Europe with its sumptuous gold auditorium.
