Bohemia Glassworks is one of the country's foremost manufacturers and global exporters of crystal glass and tableware. The country is still privately owned and the production of glass has changed little over the past 50 years. Glass is still hand blown and hand cut. The tour (which did not allow pictures) was like going back in time. The general manager indicated that glass is manufactured only through private orders for companies such as Waterford and Lenox. After the tour, students visited the factory store where most came home with bags of crystal at reasonable prices. A few of the students and faculty became impatient with the shopping as indicated by the pictures. |
