Classroom + Online Structure
What should you expect from the Professional MBA classroom at the University of Tennessee? Interactive learning, class participation, and a real bonding experience with your classmates and the faculty.
Classroom Structure
You'll spend a lot of time in the classroom during your 16 months in the program. In addition to 42 Saturday classes, you’ll also participate in two week-long residence periods—one at the beginning and one at the end of the program--plus one three-day mini-residence period to kick off the final semester.
The Saturday schedule is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET. Our integrated approach means we'll touch on all business disciplines during class time—accounting, finance, marketing, operations, supply chain issues, leadership, strategy, business law, information management, and international business.
You'll cover a lot of ground quickly, so we expect you to participate with questions, observations, and experiences. You're going to learn a tremendous amount—but you'll also be an important resource for your classmates. Dynamic interaction is truly the key to our innovative, highly compressed learning method.
Online Structure
Outside the classroom, you'll be participating in regular online distance-learning sessions. These sessions are held on Tuesday evenings from 7 p.m. to 9:40 p.m. ET. Class time is dynamic and interactive, just as it would be in person, but allows you the flexibility to log in from any location you choose.
